- Announced October 13, 2026 · Applies from October 20, 2026 — Corrected “anonymous identifier” to “random identifier” for price opinion responses in Sections 1 and 7 (the value is not linked to your name or email address, but strictly speaking it is not anonymous); added a phone number to the contact details in Section 11
SOLRUNA Inc. (주식회사 솔루나, a company in South Korea; the “Company”) values the personal information of its users and complies with applicable laws, including Korea’s Personal Information Protection Act. This policy applies to the websites operated by the Company: www.solruna.com (company information) and eshopdeal.kr (the eShopDeal website).
The mobile apps distributed by the Company collect different information, so each app has its own separate privacy policy. This policy applies only to the websites.
1. Information We Collect and How
The Company does not offer account registration on its websites and does not ask you to enter your name, contact details, address, or similar information. The information below is collected automatically for visitor statistics. On the eShopDeal website, the “price opinion” and “game recommendation” responses you leave by pressing a button yourself, and the bot-prevention information gathered at that time, are collected only when you press the button.
| Category | Items | How collected |
|---|---|---|
| Visit records | A random identifier stored in a cookie, IP address, date and time of access, addresses of pages visited, referral source (the site visited immediately before) | Collected automatically by Google Analytics |
| Usage environment | Browser type and version, operating system, device type, screen size, language setting | Collected automatically by Google Analytics |
| Estimated location | Approximate location at the country or city level (precise location is not collected) | Estimated from IP address |
| Usage behavior | Records of actions on the site, such as button clicks and search terms entered (does not include information that identifies an individual) | Google Analytics events |
| Price opinion responses (eShopDeal website) | A random identifier issued to your browser, the game, the answer you selected (one of “buy now,” “if it gets cheaper,” or “won’t buy”), the price displayed on screen at that time, and the time of the response | Only when you press a response button on a game page — stored in Firebase (Anonymous Authentication, Cloud Firestore) |
| Game recommendation responses (eShopDeal website) | A random identifier issued to your browser, the game, the answer you selected (either “Recommend” or “Don’t recommend,” or a cancellation), the version of the website you responded on (for example, the Korean or Taiwanese version), the display language, and the time of the response | Only when you press a button under “Have you played this game?” on a game page — stored in Firebase (Anonymous Authentication, Cloud Firestore) |
| Bot prevention (when responding with a price opinion or game recommendation) | Browser and device information, IP address of the connection, information about your use of the page (values used to determine whether the user is an automated program) | Only when you press a response button — collected by Google reCAPTCHA to determine whether the response comes from a human |
IP addresses are anonymized by Google Analytics at the collection stage, and the Company does not store or view original IP addresses.
The random identifier for price opinion and game recommendation responses is a value issued to your browser (the same value is used for both kinds of response). It is not linked to your name, email address, or any other information, and the Company does not use it to identify individuals. If you do not press a button, nothing is sent. If you press “Haven’t played,” no response is sent to the Company.
Information stored only on your device and not sent to the Company: The price opinion and game recommendation answers you have selected on the eShopDeal website, and any “Haven’t played” selections, are kept in your browser’s storage (localStorage) for display on screen. They are not sent to the Company’s servers, and if you delete your browser data, we will no longer be able to show your previous answers.
2. Purposes of Use
- Analyzing how the service is used and compiling statistics
- Organizing content to match users’ interests and improving the service
- Identifying and addressing the causes of errors and outages
- Preventing misuse, such as mass responses submitted by automated programs
- Displaying per-game totals of price opinion responses (number and percentage of responses), analyzing how responses change as prices change, and putting together sale recommendations (curation)
- Putting together popularity lists and rankings using per-game view and interest totals
- Displaying per-game totals of game recommendation responses (recommendation percentage and number of responses) — totals are not shown for games with responses from fewer than 5 people, and how any individual user answered is not disclosed
Sale recommendations and rankings on the eShopDeal website (for example, the weekly ranking) may also display the following per-game totals: (1) totals, by game, of wishlists collected in the eShopDeal app (for example, “saved by N people”); and (2) totals, by game, of only how many people viewed the game’s detail page in the eShopDeal app and on this website (for example, “viewed by N people this week”). Games with fewer than 3 people are not shown, which user saved or viewed which game is not disclosed, and these totals are not used to identify individuals. The websites do not collect the app’s wishlists; collection and use in the app are governed by the eShopDeal app privacy policy.
The Company does not use the visitor statistics it collects directly to personalize ads, and does not combine or analyze them for the purpose of identifying individuals. However, third-party ads shown on the websites are operated by the ad providers using their own cookies; this is explained separately in Section 6.
3. Retention and Use Period
User-level data collected by Google Analytics is retained for up to 14 months from the date of collection and then deleted automatically. However, statistics aggregated in a form that cannot identify individuals may be retained without a time limit.
Price opinion responses are retained for as long as the service is operated, for per-game totals and for analyzing how responses change as prices change. Responses contain no information that identifies individuals, and if you delete your browser data, your later responses and earlier responses will not be linked to each other.
Game recommendation responses are retained for as long as the service is operated, for per-game recommendation percentage totals. Like price opinion responses, they contain no information that identifies individuals, and if you delete your browser data, your later responses and earlier responses will not be linked to each other.
The Company does not separately retain bot-prevention information. Google uses it to determine whether the user is an automated program, and processes and retains it in accordance with Google’s policies.
Where retention is required by applicable law, information is retained for the period set by that law.
4. Outsourcing of Processing and Transfers Outside Korea
To operate the service, the Company outsources the processing of personal information as shown below. Information entrusted to service providers outside Korea is stored and processed on servers outside Korea.
| Service provider | Outsourced task | Destination country · Timing · Method | Items transferred |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google LLC | Visitor statistics analysis (Google Analytics) | United States · Sent over the network when you use the service | Visit records, usage environment, estimated location, and usage behavior in Section 1 |
| Google LLC | Ad serving (Google AdSense) — see Section 6 | United States · Sent over the network when an ad is displayed | Ad identification cookie, IP address of the connection, addresses of pages visited |
| Kakao Corp. (주식회사 카카오) | Ad serving (Kakao AdFit) — see Section 6 | Republic of Korea (no transfer outside Korea) · Sent over the network when an ad is displayed | Ad identification cookie, IP address of the connection, addresses of pages visited |
| Google LLC | Storing and totaling price opinion and game recommendation responses (Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore) | United States · Sent over the network when you press a response button | Price opinion responses and game recommendation responses in Section 1 |
| Google LLC | Bot prevention (Google reCAPTCHA, Firebase App Check) | United States · Sent over the network when you press a response button | Bot-prevention information in Section 1 |
| Vercel Inc. | Website hosting and content delivery | United States and other countries · Sent over the network when you use the service | IP address of the connection, date and time of access, pages requested (server access logs) |
You may refuse transfers outside Korea. Visitor statistics are not collected if you block cookies as described in Section 5, and this does not restrict your use of the site. Price opinion responses, game recommendation responses, and bot-prevention information are not sent unless you press a response button. However, server access logs for website hosting (Vercel) are necessarily created in order to show you the pages, so if you refuse them, you will not be able to use the websites.
The price opinion and game recommendation features are protected by reCAPTCHA, and the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply to this part. reCAPTCHA is loaded only when you press a response button; if you do not press a button, this information is not sent.
5. Use of Cookies and How to Refuse Them
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. The Company uses them for visitor statistics and for bot prevention on price opinion and game recommendation responses (Google reCAPTCHA), and ad providers use their own cookies to serve ads (Section 6). You may refuse cookies at any time.
- You can block cookies from being stored, or delete stored cookies, in your browser settings. (For example: Chrome → Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies)
- To block only Google Analytics collection, you can install the opt-out browser add-on provided by Google.
- How to refuse ad cookies is explained separately in Section 6.
6. Third-Party Advertising Services
The Company may display ads on some pages of the websites through Google LLC’s advertising service (Google AdSense) and Kakao Corp.’s advertising service (Kakao AdFit). In that case, each ad provider and its partner ad providers may use their own cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this website and other websites.
These cookies are placed and managed directly by the ad providers, and the Company does not access these cookies or view their contents. They are separate from the visitor statistics the Company collects under Section 1, and the Company does not combine the two. Ads are displayed only at the bottom of some pages of the eShopDeal website (eshopdeal.kr) and are not displayed on the company information pages.
- If you do not want personalized ads, you can turn them off in Google’s My Ad Center.
- Personalized ads from Kakao AdFit can be turned off in the ad settings of your Kakao account. For details and for Kakao’s handling of personal information related to ads, see the Kakao Privacy Policy.
- Cookies from ad providers other than Google can be refused all at once at aboutads.info or youronlinechoices.com.
- For how Google uses data for advertising purposes, see Google’s partner sites policy.
Even if you refuse personalized ads, ads may still be displayed; in that case, the ads shown will not be related to your interests.
7. Provision to Third Parties
The Company does not provide users’ personal information to third parties. However, if an investigative agency or other authority makes a request through lawful procedures under applicable law, the Company will comply with it.
Statistical data aggregated so that individuals cannot be identified, such as per-game view counts and interest counts, may be provided externally for service improvement, partnership, or research purposes. These statistics do not include information that can identify individuals, such as cookie identifiers, IP addresses, or random identifiers.
8. Links to External Sites
Some pages contain links to external sites such as Coupang (including affiliate links). Once you click a link and leave our site, that site’s privacy policy applies, and the Company is not involved in or responsible for that site’s collection and use of information. The Company records only the fact that a link was clicked, as a statistic, and does not store information that identifies individuals along with it.
9. Your Rights and How to Exercise Them
You may request access to, correction of, deletion of, or suspension of processing of your personal information. If you make a request using the contact information below, we will act on it without delay. However, because the information the Company holds is in a form that cannot identify individuals, we may be unable to fulfill a request if we cannot verify your identity. In that case, if you delete your cookies and browser data as described in Section 5, information collected afterward will not be linked to earlier information. Price opinion and game recommendation responses that have already been stored remain in the per-game totals in a form that cannot identify individuals (Section 3).
10. Security Measures
- HTTPS encrypted communication across the entire site
- Keeping the number of staff who handle personal information to a minimum and managing access rights
- Limiting the items collected to what is necessary to provide the service (visitor statistics, price opinion responses, game recommendation responses, bot prevention)
